John:
Honestly, it’s a really proud moment. Vegums started as a small idea between pharmacists who wanted to create vitamins that felt different — enjoyable, ethical, and genuinely family-friendly. We were frustrated with traditional supplements: bland tablets, unnecessary fillers, and endless plastic bottles. We knew there had to be a better way.

Seeing Vegums now available on boots.com is a reminder of how far that little idea has come. It’s surreal, exciting, and a big step forward for vegan vitamins becoming part of the mainstream.


Reporter: Vegums was created by pharmacists — can you tell us why that mattered?

John:
Absolutely. As pharmacists, we spend our careers helping people improve their health, so we knew how important evidence-based nutrition was. But we also knew compliance is a huge issue — people forget to take vitamins because they’re unpleasant or awkward.

So we set out to make supplements that were effective, plant-based, and enjoyable. That’s how Vegums was born: pharmacist-formulated gummies designed to taste good, feel good, and support people through every stage of life.

We wanted families — especially kids — to actually want to take their vitamins.


Reporter: Many assume Boots approached you, but it was actually the other way around. What motivated you to reach out?

John:
Boots is one of the most trusted healthcare retailers in the UK, so it felt like the natural next step for us. We wanted to make Vegums more accessible to people who prefer buying from places they already trust.

So yes — we approached Boots with the idea. We believed Vegums belonged on a platform where customers expect quality, reliability, and transparency. When we shared our mission — vegan ingredients, compostable packaging, pharmacist-backed formulations — they really embraced it.

Launching on boots.com is huge validation that sustainability and effectiveness can go hand-in-hand.
