As with all of our gummies we’ve only use naturally-derived flavours & colours. It’s packed with Vitamins B12, B6 & D3 plus Folic Acid, Selenium & Iodine – providing everything you need and nothing you don’t.
So what are these vitamins and minerals and why do you need them?
Why do we need Vitamin B6 and D3 if I am vegan?
Vitamin B6 and Vitamin D3 are important nutrients for vegans and non-vegans alike. Vitamin B6 helps in neurotransmitter synthesis, immune system function, and protein metabolism. As vitamin B6 is found mainly in animal products, vegans may need to supplement their diet with vitamin B6 supplement (such as a super tasty Vegums gummy bear).
Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium for strong bones and supports the immune system. Vitamin D3 is primarily obtained from sun exposure or food sources such as eggs, fatty fish, and dairy. Since vegan diets often lack these sources, vegans may benefit from vitamin D3 supplementation.
What about Vitamin B12, why do I need that?
Vitamin B12 is essential for many functions in the body, including the production of red blood cells, DNA synthesis, nerve function, and energy metabolism. Deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to anemia, nerve damage, and cognitive decline. You can can obtain folic acid from a variety of plant-based foods, such as leafy greens, legumes, and fortified cereals, however some may still benefit from supplementation to meet your daily needs.
Selenium & Iodine?
Selenium acts as an antioxidant, helps with thyroid function, and supports the immune system. A lack of selenium can lead to problems such as thyroid dysfunction and decreased immune function.
Iodine is crucial for the production of thyroid hormones, which regulate metabolism and growth. Iodine deficiency can lead to problems such as goiter (enlargement of the thyroid gland) and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).
